About this Horse

I have an interesting last name, Ma(马), which means “horse” in Chinese and I do have all the characteristics that a real horse has.

I am a horse who loves to travel. I have been to four different countries, including China, Korea, Japan, Australia and I am currently discovering my fifth country, the United States of America. After spending two years in north California to finish up my high school, I decided to go to Georgia to get my bachelor degree of science starting this fall. During these two years, I have only visited Nevada, New York City, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey other than Cali and Georgia; so, I am really looking forward to exploring more in the next four years of college.

Movies have a special meaning to me. As a student, it is not possible for me to frequently take few days off and go to various places. Movies, therefore, provide me a way to fly around and experience this beautiful world while physically staying in the same place. Not only the astonishing sceneries but also the unique thoughts of roles, actors, directors amaze me. The power of their moves and words can deeply impact on me and I am able to feel what they feel, even though we are separated by the screen. This way of interaction fulfills my goal of understanding the world which I live in.

Travel cannot be travel unless you communicate with local people. Even though speaking fluent English is enough for people to tour around most of the countries in the world, but knowing the language of your destination gives you a much more fascinating trip. Hence, learning foreign languages is an important part of my life. For now, I can only speak Chinese and English fluently but I am planning to get a minor degree in Korean and maybe another language if time allows.

Why do horses love to run on the wide field? Because when they run, all they need to focus on is running. There is nothing else to think about. Why do I love traveling? Because traveling gives my mind freedom. Sometimes it enables me get away with the problems in my life for a short time. When traveling, I may find solutions to the problems by watching how people of different cultural backgrounds live their lives, or I may not. But when I get back to my real life, one thing is assured is that I will have a widened view and a better mood, which are essential to solve those complicated situations. And the rest of time, it provides me with an emotional outlet. On my way to destination, I finally have time to sort out ideas, to arrange my emotions. I am free to laugh, to cry, to be silent. There is no need to worry about the thoughts of strangers. This kind of freedom is hard to obtain in our daily life.

So, yes, I am a legit horse and let’s keep moving little horse!
